Week 12: Face #12

by Megan on March 28, 2010

Ah…to be two years old again!  I love the look of pure joy on a toddler’s face at play.  The portrait for Face #12 was rendered from a photograph of this happy little man playing with his trains.  This portrait captures a momentary break from playing with the train-set to flash an adorable smile towards mom.

Week 11: Face #11

by Megan on March 19, 2010

I love the playful expression and gesture of the little boy in Face #11. There is nothing better than when your baby gets to an age where he or she can really play with you!  Face #11 captures a moment of play where this sweet toddler waits in anticipation for Mom or Dad to throw his ball back to him.

Week 10: Face #10

by Megan on March 11, 2010

There is something very tender about the preteen stage of life.  Face #10 is of a young man who is around 9 or 10 years of age.  His expression is so endearing in the way that it is both a bit timid and mischievous.  Working on this portrait brought me back to the years I spent teaching middle school.  It made my heart ache a little bit thinking about those times, as I really do miss those children.  I know that I will be there soon enough with my own daughter, as time passes so quickly.

Week 9: Face #9

by Megan on March 3, 2010

This baby face is irresistible!  Face #9 shows the intent concentration on an infant’s face during play.  This portrait is based on a lovely photograph where sunshine floods through a window, illuminating this sweet face.  Such a great moment!
